State Laughter

Just got the pun of title (intended?) as it arrived. This came in with the new UT 2x12" reissue of their first 2 ep's...which is great because this is of the world The World are harkening back to. It doesn't have the chaos of a lot of o.g. no wave records, but it shouldn't as it comes from a different time/different energy. Its lethargic, in a good way...ie it's not an aggressive, smash your saxophone over you neighbors head kind of record. Its more of a dosi do yr neighbor, stand on your head and giggle. Shameless dancing...fun in an era of dread. Maybe its reflective of OUR World, but their world reminds me of a time coming up in punk where i looked and felt awkward, but when i went to a show that was all erased...The World is a place for us. Their World is also Our World, but not Their (the other Their) World. Get it?
