State Laughter

Out there recordings from Mills College students of David Behrman and Robert Ashley. These 1981 recordings teeter between the New Wave and the av*nt garde of their professors. Would make perfect sense sandwhiched between Ashley and the Units or Pink Section. It has that theatrically dialogue that Robert Ashley is so sublime with, almost submerging performer into the sound in a disembodied sense. Very no wave, but also very structured. Musical equivalent of walking across a bridge as one side falls apart.
