State Laughter

I can remember the first time i talked to Moses. We were both either in high school or just graduated. A friend ran a record store out of his warehouse (Stickfigure Records) that was responsible for a lot of us getting deeper into the underbelly of punk and noise culture. On Saturday (still living at my parents) me and me fellow urbanite punks would race down to the store/ often the door would still be walked as Gavin groggily opened it for us. Moses said something along the liens of "Hey you want to be in this project Celestial Annihilation I am organizing?" It was a one night amalgam of anyone he had seen/met at shows that could play...er owned an instrument. I think i ended up missing it cos i was 17 and probably didn't drive yet, but it ripped a seam into what was an amazing time in Atlanta as Deerhunter was emerging from the noise embryo they were birthed out of. I got to go projections at some of there early shows and see them develop as something really powerful. Down the road....Moses is living in NY but is back in Atlanta for a bit and is doing these dinner pop ups at this restaurant i work at (before that shit blew up in Atlanta). I got to DJ for a Brooks Headly (Born Against/Universal Order Of Armageddon) service....I'm not a starfucker or nothin, but that was pretty fuckign cool for me. And Brooks was 100%.

Non of this pertains to Moses' record....Its groundwork to let you know this is a guy i have fucked with for almost 20 years. Always kind, always creating unique music/art....always trying to support the community that supported him. This 2xLP is massive and beautiful. Minimal, ambient and a distortion of time and space...as it was recorded over 10 years and in numerous places around the world. Take some time below to check out. I endorse Moses and Geographic North 100%. Label with some of the best design and a killer, diverse roster of musicians.....and now my pizza is here and my girlfriend says its getting cold so....
