Description

I first heard JDLS and this album at a local store in the early 2000's where i would often find under the radar new age records. Arica "Heaven" for like $5. This was De La Sierras only album in this style...blurring the lines of minimalist piano, the burgeoning New Age....processing thru a haze of ripping water echo and dust. Beautiful hypnotic compositions, nearly 2 hours of them. I unfortunately found the version of the LP that was a single LP, but still beautiful, and honestly listening to 2 hours of anything can be challenging. This reissue is the complete original 2xLP version done impeccably as Numero always does. This record feels to me like you are laying on a hill, half your body soaked in sunshine, the other half soaked in rain. Awkward zen. Given its polarization of transcendence and pseudoscience...new age is an interesting genre/movement to be celebrated, but i mean what hasn't been scavenged at this point. Before i even joined the Waxidermy message board over a decade ago, searching for odd recorded artifacts was already what got me up in the morning more than anything. Still to this day i commune with mold, insect, unidentified terrestrial objects, and weird human beings just to retrace my steps back to finding LP's like this early on in my quest. In the 1000's of Lps I've sold over the years, this one has survived all the purges and has traveled around with me to each home i have occupied.
