C. Memi "Heavenly Peace" LP
$15.00
Description
Release number 2 from Bitter Lake Recordings and in a world of one trackers culled for the endless sea of cash in compilations with reconstructed narratives of the history of the 80's underground, this exists as a file worthy document. This 5 song ep is the one and only release from Memi, who got her start in the band Neo Matisse (who i believe will also get reissue treatment from Bitter Lake). It was recorded on 4 track, rendering a minimalist output, but its subtleties construct something very thought out. The meat of the record is very playful...as if wondering thru an abandoned house exploring different rooms untouched with the disappearance of life that has ceased. The field trip ends with "Heavenly Peace". The class lets out of the rear entrance of the house into a pastoral field as the lush synths come up into the foreground, credits roll...we never find out what happens to those young students....do they get back on their bus? Do they drown in a marsh, dancing to Heavenly Peace? Do they move into a cheap apartment in this foreign land and try to decipher what exactly happened to those that left the house behind? These aural rooms are packaged in a beautiful 12x12 paper replication house and insert for further reading about Memi's wonderful journey into synthesis.
