While oft cataloged as a krautrock group, Brainticket were actually Swiss and led by enigmatic Belgian bandleader Joel Vandroogenbroeck who released some pretty killer solo records as well. Brainticket shies away from the motor tendencies of Neu! landing more in the Amon Duul II camp of psychedelia. Spacey passages, flute, organ, fuzz. Very trippy. Apparently "banned" in some countries, dunno if i buy that or not. Either way killer music from acid tests, colored slide shows, nude sunbathing, sensory deprivation chambers etc. Half the band was also in the killer heavy rock/psych outfit Toad, who should also be sought after.
