State Laughter

Very stoked to carry this as Erika has been an internet friend for nearly 2 decades! From a time when it was new and exciting meeting people in a virtual way and making our DIY scenes a little smaller. The best thing is that this record is awesome and i would carry regardless of our friendship. To my knowledge the band did everythign in regards to this release: writing, design, recording, pressing, printing etc. Beautiful 2 color risograph folder covers, stamped labels etc. The music is minimal, rhythmically metronomic....guitar building halftone patterns as the speed and tonality change over the bass and drums. Then bass building different patterns as the guitar and drums perform as anchor. Unwound as no wave band.....kinda reminds me of The Cranium at times....I love when you can tell the a guitar is made of metal strings. The sound of amplified metal is one of the most beautiful things in the world to me....throw 5 pedals on that shit and its all lost. Primitive but not derivative. Keeping it to an 8 song 45 rpm 12" is great too. Just enough to keep you wanting another record. Great vinyl debut.
