State Laughter

Current 93 is an ugly, mutilated bird with an angelic voice. Its awkward music and their are times when Tibet is too much even for me, but in his moments of beauty he is crushing (and that is often). This album is very sparse...often simply piano and voice. An album that reminds me of my appreciation for negative space in sound and light. I think the piano dampens some of what might be obnoxious vocally to people who can't get past David's unique voice. Some of the apocalyptic guitar cacophony maybe come off as schizoid busker (not my sentiment, speculating why you goons wouldn't enjoy). Couldn't think of a more fitting album name for this than Soft Black Stars.
