Diat "Positive Disintegration" LP

Description
I had heard the Aussie faction of Diat had returned to the motherland from Germany, so i figured this LP had been abandoned. I knew it had been started as my friend Nick Goode would always inform me about what was going on with the band. Positive Energy was a favorite of 2015 and i believe this one will be up there as well. It's a more subdued event and I'm not angry at that. It's been growing on me with each listen and i feel like there is a lot more to take in still. It's not a record that blows its load on first listen. There is sound unraveling as the grooves are worn away. My love of Australian and German music is immense and seeing these national pastimes overlap (be it real or imagined) is special. Not that i care about national identity at all, but its just not so often (especially in our punk world) that people that come from different strong musical backgrounds get to collaborate or even just compose in another land. Might just be a footnote, but its a rare thing. Regardless of what world this comes from, it's highly recommended and always great to see bands stick around long enough to put out more than one album.
