Low Life "Downer EDN" LP
$21.00
Description
Low Life are my favorite active band. Favorite of this decade for sure, probably in all of the 2000's. And maybe even beyond. I've anticipated this album for years, just as i had "Dogging". Getting to hear it is pure adult Christmas. Cristian (bass) had sent me unmastered versions of The Pitts and RBB about a year or so ago and i've been waiting in front of the chimney ever since. RBB is such an anthem. And i hate "anthemic" music. Its just music for us. For the LLFC. For those in rehab, for those consumed by urbanity, for those trying to raise a garden from concrete. Continuing to create sitting upside down with your legs on your bed, take out spread across the floor. Practice amp on one , amp buzzing slightly above non amplified guitar. Writing while the TV blares in and out of the melody. The schizophrenia of urban life. Their music honestly touches me to the point that it is difficult to write about without sounding like a fucking child gushing about Backstreet Boys or some shite.....and i think thats because it feels vulnerable to write about something you didn't create, but feel electrically drawn too. In a world where everyone wants to be someone else, Low Life are simply Low Life and thats what we need. Put some of yourself in your music/art/conversation/food/style. Buy 5 copies of this and give them to people. Play this for everyone you know. Here's to hoping they finally make it to the States and i get to buy my virtual friend Cristian a beer finally....Oh and also pretty sure this si the first and only punk album with auto tune.
