State Laughter

Perfect time for these to arrive along with the copies of Slovenian punk film "Outsider". (Also check out the LP by Russian band Blind Seagull that also came in). Less EBM...but the first track has a similar angularity to Borghesia in my mind. The fact that this is from 88 as opposed to 81 is present, but the production benefits it, as does it many bands from this region. Their is a sense of cinematic drama that the production adds that with music of Western Europe or the US might make me gag. You can just feel the conflict and war oozing from the music in my opinion whereas with music from further west comes off as over theatrical. I would love to see Argento build short films around some of these songs. The flashing colors of Suspiria, but in a club setting is what I'm getting. Detriti seriously has their pulse on an engorged vein of electronic music. Go digest 10% of their catalog...you won't be disappointed. These will probably walk out the store pretty quick...so ya know....
