State Laughter

One of my favorite records I've heard in the last year. So hypnotic. Simply voice and an Ethiopian string instrument called a begena or Harp of David. Strings buzz as tranquil animals, charmed by Sosena's heavenly murmurs. I've only been able to find one other set of recordings she did which were included on a comp with other begena players that is just as crucial. Like waking from a dream, unsure of what state you've arrived. Sound for in-between reality and the lack thereof.
