Harald Grosskopf "Synthesist" LP+CD (Ash Ra Tempel/Klaus Schulze/Cosmic Jokers)
$18.00
Description
Harald Grosskopf percussionist of Ash Ra Tempel, Ash Ra, Cosmic Jokers, and for Klaus Schulze steps out from behind the kit for his first solo record, recorded in 1980. Ash Ra was on hiatus, Grosskopf had turned 30 and was going thru a recent break up. He took to the German countryside armed with MiniMoog and Revox to work on "Synthesist". This pastoral landscape is reflected in the title track. A cinematic drive down the autobahn en route to a rural escape. Whether or not Germans would agree, the association with driving cars physically and metaphorically is undeniable in the mind and its journalistic exploits in regards to 70's and 80's Kraut/progressive music. One day I'd love to score a film, a new silent film or at least sans dialogue, in the spirit of Ralf and Florian and Gottsching and Dinger and Grosskopf. RVNGing did a killer job on this as always.
