Description

Geinoh Yamashirogumi were a Japanese musical collective that were probably most famously known for doing the soundtrack to Akira. This album was the final part of a trilogy (that also included Akira) and i believe was their final album, doing out in 1990. At times heavily influenced by Balinese and Javanese gamelan music, sounding very spiritual, the album also wanders down the unmistakable cyber sidewalks of Japan. A meeting of tradition/nature and technology. Ecophony (to my knowledge a word fabricated for this title) Gaia is a perfect summation of this work. Really unique and I'm unsure of what else to compare it to.
