Description

Includes bands 1992 7", compilation and demo tracks. On the stellar General Speech label. Tom is probably one of the most knowledgable non Japanese scholars of Japanese punk and hardcore. Im obsessive with music, but I tend to jump into the river and explore where it takes me. I enjoy the dead ends, the snags, the boredom of flipping thru moldy Lps and tapes that sat in a basement for 40 years only to end their life in thrift store cemeteries. I say this in contrast to folks like General Speech who are deliberate in their research. I am eternally grateful for folks resculpting the image of a scene long gone in a realistic sense. I'm a good miner, but when it comes to polish things off I guess I'd rather exist in the dreamworlds I've created.

So that all tells you exactly how this sounds right? Haha. Blaze are much more Gauze than Disclose or Confuse. This isn't noisy, this isn't d-beat its good ripping Japanese hardcore, with gang vocals similar to something you'd hear on Fuckheads. I'm by no means an expert on Japanese hardcore, so take a listen to the 7" recordings below if you need more to go on.
