State Laughter

In my notes I wrote about this album sounding like running thru a house where their is a different radio station on in every room. I don't know if I still agree with that sentiment, but I think I was referencing its constant change. This one is made up of 4 different pieces as opposed to the other album we just stocked....so you get a varied bag. "Min Døde Hest" might be my favorite track. Distant mellow piano floats thru the house...recorded from a room away...beautiful female singing....ominous....eminating from a countryside...knowing something evil lurks beyond the walls. a storm maybe....maybe something we can wait out. Creaking and moaning pervades the mix, lilting low in the lull. Maybe the houses defenses fighting back the external forces. The singer seams confident that the home will stand up to whatever it comes up against....or rather possibly they have just accepted the fact that death is upon them and inevitable.

Packaging on both these releases are exquisite.
