Description
New demo from one of my favorite people and one of my only friends that actually calls me on the telephone to see how I'm doing, Aaron Smith. Also featuring the homey Kirk Podell. I don't know the other 2 folks, but they both add a lot to make this a unique demo. Shara Lunon's vocals are powerful and atypical of your run of the mill punk/post-punk. I believe this is her first band and more of y'all need to include people who want to create, but haven't been asked before. Some of my favorite bands locally in the past ten years have all included people new to playing music. People coming form a primal place as opposed to recreating dead moments in time. Kirk and bass player Richard Toomer's rhythms are loose, but provide structure for Aaron to eviscerate with his guitar/his guitar with. Evoking Keiji Haino over lost On-U Sound riddims on "Killing the process". It's simaltaneously intimidating and welcoming. Perfect example of working within a medium and expounding upon it. The mutation of imitation resonates much deeper than the imitation of mutation and most y'all need to take notes on that. This demo is better than most of calls records. Really want to see this live. Aaron I love you!
